The Cubmaster wanted me to become familiar with Scouting and how the organization was

I primarily became involved because I wanted to ensure a good program for my son.

The Pack that we were to join has a waiting list. They said if I became a Leader my son

I was late to the roundup and my wife signed me up before

I joined because almost all of the pack committee was retiring and they needed Leaders.
They said if they did not get Leaders, the pack would disband. So, I agreed to

After I asked my son's Den Leader if there were assistants or if she had an assistant,
my son overheard her say she didn't have one, yet, and asked me to do it. I thought it was
a good idea so I could keep more in touch with what he would be doing in Scouting. Since
then, I've also been the Pack's day camp coordinator for two years now, became a member of
the Pack's Committee (Secretary), and gotten my husband to start a web page for our pack. Patti

Our other assistant had relinquished his responsibilities and left the position open. Cathy

I was a concerned parent helping out two Den Leaders with fifteen active boys. I was
asked to be Assistant Den Leader for following year. I was approached by Cubmaster and
asked to be her Assistant. 9 yr. Leader

Then, Webelos Leader. I wanted my sons to stay involved Scouter366 - 4yrs

just was staying around instead of going home, too short a time to leave and come back,

Bear Den needed help and i wanted to do things with my son. 9yr. Leader
I was there anyway (it was too far to drive and so i just stayed for the Den meetings)
and it brought back a lot of great memories. It made me realize that Leadership was the
key for my great experience as a Cub and I'd like to pass that on to my kid and to other
kids who might not have parents that care or have time as much as i do. 1 yr. Leader
