Advancement Chair

It was obvious that someone need to track the Troops Eddie Tait-14yr.

I wanted to make sure that Scouts were advancing properly and regularly. I also enjoy administration and like things to be done "neatly and in order". When I took this responsibility, record keeping in our Troop was much to be desired. Curt F. Whitley - 11 yr.

Assistant Cubmaster

The pack needed one. AH - 19 yr.

The Cubmaster wanted me to become familiar with Scouting and how the organization was run. T.B.- 9 yr.

And Advancement Chairman. There was an open position. 9 yr. Leader, Eagle Scout

I primarily became involved because I wanted to ensure a good program for my son. J.P. - 10 yr.

To make sure son had a Tiger Cub group Karen - 8 yr.

The Pack that we were to join has a waiting list. They said if I became a Leader my son would be placed. Rick Snyder, 11 yr.,

My son volunteered me. W.G.- 10 yr.

Assistant Den Leader

I was late to the roundup and my wife signed me up before I got there! She said it would be only for 1 hour a week! Mike Hoskins - 3 yr.

Believe in the program and saw it as a way to spend quality time with my son. Michael McClain - 3 yr.

Because my son signed up as a Cub Scout. Frank Wozniak - 10yrs

Webelos Den needed help in setting up the program. Tom - 5 yr.

I did it because the need was there. AM - 11 yr.

I joined because almost all of the pack committee was retiring and they needed Leaders. They said if they did not get Leaders, the pack would disband. So, I agreed to "help." Pat Gibbons - 22 yr.

After I asked my son's Den Leader if there were assistants or if she had an assistant, my son overheard her say she didn't have one, yet, and asked me to do it. I thought it was a good idea so I could keep more in touch with what he would be doing in Scouting. Since then, I've also been the Pack's day camp coordinator for two years now, became a member of the Pack's Committee (Secretary), and gotten my husband to start a web page for our pack. Patti Barry - 2 yr.

Our other assistant had relinquished his responsibilities and left the position open. Cathy Cromer - 3 yr.

I was a concerned parent helping out two Den Leaders with fifteen active boys. I was asked to be Assistant Den Leader for following year. I was approached by Cubmaster and asked to be her Assistant. 9 yr. Leader

Primarily because no one else "stepped up to the plate". G.H. - 2+yr., Eagle Scout

Then, Webelos Leader. I wanted my sons to stay involved Scouter366 - 4yrs

to help to improve the program for my son P.F.- 5 yr.

just was staying around instead of going home, too short a time to leave and come back, plus I like working with children. L.J.- 11yr.

To get involved with my sons activities 1 yr. Leader

I volunteered Because they need someone and i was it. 15yr. Leader

Bear Den needed help and i wanted to do things with my son. 9yr. Leader

I was there anyway (it was too far to drive and so i just stayed for the Den meetings) and it brought back a lot of great memories. It made me realize that Leadership was the key for my great experience as a Cub and I'd like to pass that on to my kid and to other kids who might not have parents that care or have time as much as i do. 1 yr. Leader

Good way to start to learn what A Den Leader was about. DR-6yr.

Because my son's Bear Den needed an assistant Leader Suzanne Lentchner-4yr.

Because I had talked my wife into volunteering as a Den Leader for my oldest son's Cub Pack by assuring her that I would help her learn the ideals of Scouting. Robert J Gardner-20yr.
